!!!VACATION!!! (Extra "loud mark" as Ben calls it!)
This photo, of Ben eating a Continental Breakfast, begins our vacation. Steven completed his Bar Exam the end of July (HOORAY!) and a couple days later we were flying all night to Seattle, WA. Why? It was the cheapest, most interesting, and nearest airport to fly into--on our way to my (Sariah's) old stomping grounds of Walla Walla, WA (pre-Utah). I hadn't been back in 12 years and it was definitely time to visit grandma and grandpa's again. What sweetened the trip, was that my siblings (including a sister from Minnesota), sister-in-law, niece and nephew, and my mom were all driving up from Utah to join us for a little family reunion. Seattle was gorgeous (now I know why Grandma Shari loves it so much!) and spending time with family, even better. And it was pretty great to see Steven relaxing after a whole summer (or 3 years for that matter) of stress. Congratulations Steven! You deserved a break!
The Space Needle
During the elevator ride up, Steven went to his happy place. I'm not sure where that is but I'm sure its anywhere other than in an elevator rocketing up 500 ft in the air.
Eating at Starbucks at the top of the Space Needle
The 1st Starbucks is located in Seattle. And I believe it after not only seeing it but experiencing the layed-back-relaxed-enjoying-life type of atmosphere the city pervades. But then what do I know. Most cities are more relaxed than D.C. No offense to my new home.
Amusement Rides
There were a few rides next to the space needle. Watching Ben attempt to drive, made me thankful he's not getting behind a real wheel until he's 16, and lucky if that. Toddlers behind the wheel are very funny. Its complete confusion. The attendant had to keep showing the kids how to turn and which pedals to push.
The famous fish throwers
Everyone likes to watch the fish be thrown. We had to wait a little while though. Too many people watching and not enough people buying:)
